RESEARCH AND ANGLES

Work with angles

Focus and All views, pinning, winners, notes, the New angle panel, linking across products, and what generation costs.

Generating angles is the quick part. This page covers what you do with them afterwards: keeping the list in order, marking the ones that worked, sharing an angle between products, and adding your own.

Open Research under Brain in the sidebar. New angles are always created for a product, so a workspace with nothing in Products has nothing to show here. The one exception is an angle whose product was later deleted; see the last troubleshooting entry on this page. Service workspaces see "service" wherever this page says "product"; the behavior is the same.

Focus and All

The toolbar controls what you are looking at.

  • Focus shows one product at a time. The Product focus picker names the current product; select it to Choose product from a list that shows each product's angle count. Sellify remembers the product you focused last.
  • All shows every product that has angles, each in a collapsible group with an Open product page link. Use it for a quick scan across products.

The Research view switch between Focus and All sits beside the picker.

In Focus mode, the Buying angles panel has two tabs once the product has at least one angle: Ideas, which is every angle linked to the product, and Winners, which is the ones you have marked. Both show a count. The list shows six cards at a time, with Show all (n) and Show less to expand and collapse.

Generate a batch

Generate with AI in the toolbar writes a batch of angles for the focused product. Sellify reads the product's description, URLs and research documents. It requests six angles, and each angle created costs about 7 credits (your provider configuration can change that).

The button is disabled in two cases, and hovering it tells you which:

  • Switch to Focus mode to bulk-generate for a product. Bulk generation needs to know which product to write about.
  • Add a description, a product URL, or a research document before generating angles. The product has no usable evidence yet.

While a batch runs, a banner shows the step: Writing angles, Ranking angles, then Saving angles. You can keep working; the new cards arrive together with a New badge. If the run fails, the banner has a Retry button.

The same batch runs from a product page with Generate angles under Buying angles, which also requests six. The guided first-product flow asks for ten. See Recover when angle generation does not finish if a run stalls.

If you are out of credits, Sellify shows You're out of credits with a View plans link. See Understand credits.

Add one angle yourself

New angle opens a panel that walks through three steps. From a product page the product is already set and the panel says Angle will be linked to this product.

Product

Pick the product the angle belongs to. An angle always belongs to a product; you can link it to more later.

Method

Generate with AI takes a short brief and fills in the name, hook and copy. Write manually gives you the fields to fill in yourself.

Brief, or the angle

For the AI route, describe the angle in the Brief box. Suggestion chips (Skeptic, Gift, ROI, Status, Expert) drop in a starting brief you can edit. A specific brief works better than a vague one: name the buyer and the objection.

For the manual route, fill in Angle name (required), Hook and Description.

Select Create angle.

The AI route is charged as angle generation, so it uses credits. Writing an angle manually does not.

If the generated angle does not fully match your brief, a note says so and names what is missing. Regenerate tries again with the same brief.

Order the list

Drag a card to move it. The order is saved for that product, so it is the order you see next time, on the Research page and on the product page alike.

To hold an angle at the top regardless of order, open its menu and choose Pin to top. Unpin releases it. Pinned cards show a pin icon.

Mark winners

Once you have run an angle and evaluated it, open the card menu and choose Mark as winner. The menu names the product you are marking it for, because winners are per product: the same angle can be a winner for one product and untested for another. Remove winner undoes it.

Winners collect on the Winners tab and carry a trophy icon on the card. Until you mark one, the tab reads No winners yet.

A winner is a label you apply. It does not measure performance, and generating an angle does not make it one.

Edit an angle

Choose Edit from the card menu to open Edit angle. You can change the Name, Hook, Description and Status, then Save changes.

Status is yours to manage: draft while you are still thinking, testing while it is running, active for the ones you are committed to, winning for proven performers.

Share an angle across products

An angle can belong to more than one product. If two products sell to the same person for the same reason, write the angle once.

To attach an existing angle to another product, open that product's page and select Link existing under Buying angles. The Link existing angles panel lists angles already used on other products, with a search box and a note of how many products each one is linked to. Tick the ones you want and select Link.

To detach one, use Unlink from this product on the card menu. The option only appears when the angle is linked to more than one product, because an angle always needs at least one.

Delete an angle

Choose Delete from the card menu. The confirmation reads Delete this angle? and warns that removing it also unlinks it from every product.

Deleting removes the angle everywhere

Deleting removes the angle from every product it is linked to, not only the one you are looking at, and cannot be undone. If you only want it off this product, use Unlink from this product instead.

Notes, ideas and to-dos

Below the angles in Focus mode is Product memory, for thinking that is not an angle yet: audience observations, a seasonal plan, a market note you do not want to lose.

Pick Note, Idea or To-Do, type, and select Add Note (or Add Idea, Add To-Do). Ctrl + Enter adds it too. Filter the list with All, Notes, Ideas and To-Dos; each shows a count. A to-do has a checkbox to mark it done. Notes stay attached to the product.

Turn an angle into an ad

Three routes, all ending in the same place:

  • Create ads on the angle card.
  • Create ads from this angle at the bottom of Angle details.
  • Create ads with this format beside a recommended format, which carries the format across too.

All three open ad creation with the product and angle filled in. See Prepare and review your first ad.
