# Read an angle

> What each field on an angle card and in the Angle details panel means, and what the actions there do.

An angle card is the summary. Select the card to open **Angle details**, where Sellify shows who the angle targets, how much that person already knows, and which ad formats suit it.

Treat every field as the model's reasoning about a hypothesis. None of it is measured campaign performance.

## On the card

| What you see | What it means |
| -------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Number | The angle's position in the list. Drag a card to change it. |
| Status pill | **draft**, **testing**, **active** or **winning**. You set this yourself in **Edit**. New angles start as **draft**. |
| Source pill | How the angle was made: **AI bulk** (a generated batch), **AI brief** (the **Generate with AI** route in **New angle**), **Manual** (written by you) or **Cloned winner** (cloned from a winning ad). |
| **New** | Added by the batch that just finished. It is not saved, so it disappears when you reload. |
| Pin icon | Pinned to the top of the list. |
| Trophy icon | Marked as a winner for the product you are viewing. |
| Name and hook | The angle's name, a one-line hook in quotation marks, and a short description underneath. |
| **Create ads** | Opens ad creation with this product and angle already filled in. |

An info icon beside the name shows a short explanation of the angle when one was generated.

## Inside Angle details

The panel header repeats the product name and the angle name. A green **Winner** pill appears when the angle is a winner for that product, and a red pill names its motivation. A yellow **Category-assumed** pill appears when the angle leans on a claim that is common to the product category but is not confirmed by your product sources. Check that claim against your product before you build an ad on it.

### Sample hook

A short carousel of hook lines written for this angle, with a counter such as `2 / 4`. Use the previous and next arrows, or the dots underneath, to move through them.

**Generate more hooks** asks for another set. It is charged as angle generation, so it uses credits. If nothing new comes back, Sellify says **No new hook samples found**.

### For and Not for

**For** describes the target buyer. **Not for** describes who the angle deliberately excludes. Both matter: an angle that tries to speak to everyone speaks to nobody. If either is empty the panel reads **No target buyer set.** or **No exclusion set.**

### Awareness

How much the buyer already knows, shown as a score out of 5 with a filled bar:

| Level | The buyer |
| ------------------ | ----------------------------------- |
| **Unaware** | Doesn't know they have a problem |
| **Problem aware** | Knows the problem, not the fix |
| **Solution aware** | Knows fixes exist, weighing options |
| **Product aware** | Knows the category, weighing brands |
| **Most aware** | Ready to buy, needs the nudge |

Under the label, a short rationale explains what a buyer at this stage has already tried and which creative direction is likely to land. An unaware audience needs the problem explained before the product means anything. A most-aware audience only needs a reason to act now.

### Sophistication

How much advertising this market has already seen, also out of 5:

| Score | Label |
| ----- | ---------------------- |
| 1 | **Direct claim** |
| 2 | **Bigger claim** |
| 3 | **Mechanism** |
| 4 | **Better mechanism** |
| 5 | **Story / contrarian** |

Sellify adds a one-line read underneath. At 1 or 2 the market is newer and a direct claim still lands. At 3, a mechanism beats a direct claim. At 4 or 5 the market is saturated and the angle needs a mechanism, a story or a contrarian frame. A rationale specific to this angle follows.

### Emotion and Motivation

**Emotion** is the single feeling the angle works on, such as hope or vindication. **Motivation** is the kind of pull it uses, one of:

- **Pain escape (away-from)**
- **Pleasure / desire (toward)**
- **Status & social signaling**
- **Identity & self-image**
- **Fear / loss aversion**
- **Gift / love for another person**
- **Ritual / habit upgrade**
- **Price / value / ROI**
- **Social proof & tribe**
- **Novelty / unique mechanism**
- **Time / convenience**
- **Vindication / contrarian**

### Recommended formats

The **Image** tab lists the ad formats that suit this angle, with a count. Formats include **Announcement / promotion / discount**, **Before-and-after**, **Facts and statistics**, **FAQ explainer**, **Features and benefits**, **Holiday / seasonal**, **Humor / funny**, **Native ad**, **Reasons to buy**, **Testimonials & reviews**, **UGC**, **Unboxing**, **Us versus them** and **Bizarre / pattern-interrupt**.

Each recommendation comes with a short reason it fits and a **Create ads with this format** button that carries both the angle and the format into ad creation.

The **Video** tab is marked **Coming soon**. Video format recommendations arrive when video ad generation does.

### Why it converts

The full description of the angle and the argument behind it. This is the model's reasoning, not a campaign report. Check any claim it makes about materials, results or savings against your own evidence before you repeat it in an ad.

## Actions in the panel

The footer holds **Pin to top** (or **Unpin**), **Mark as winner** (or **Remove winner**) when you opened the angle from a product, and **Create ads from this angle**.

If the angle is not linked to any product, **Create ads** cannot start and Sellify asks you to link the angle to a product first. See [Work with angles](https://sellify.ai/docs/research/work-with-angles).
