# How long does it take to generate ads?

> It varies with load. Watch the status on the build screen or in Recent generations rather than a clock.

**Long enough that you should not sit and watch it.** Sellify does not promise a fixed time, and the copy is written after the image, so an ad can appear before its text does.

Use the status instead of a clock:

| Build screen, **Latest generation** panel | **Queued** ("Your brief is queued and will start in a moment"), then **Generating** ("Building your ad variations"), then **Ready** or **Needs attention**. |
| **Ad library → Recent generations**       | A **Queued**, **Generating…** or **Failed** badge on each run.                                                                                              |

Under heavy load the queued row says there is high traffic and your generation is in line. That is normal; the run starts when a slot frees up.

If a run shows **Failed**, expand it in **Recent generations** and use **Rerun**. If it shows **Ready** but an ad has a **Backup copy** badge, the image is done and only the copy fell back; see [Edit an ad](https://sellify.ai/docs/create-ads/edit-an-ad).
